Red Ribbon Week program is Tuesday

Students at Purcell Junior High School will host Andrew Cuomo from Narconon for Red Ribbon Week on Tuesday.
Cuomo will speak to the students about the dangers of drugs and alcohol.
Parents and the public are welcome to attend the hour-long program at the junior high school auditorium starting at 9:20 a.m.
Officials report a major problem plaguing parents today is prescription medications sought by children. Over three million United States teens abuse prescription drugs, according to Lock Your Meds.
Every day, 3,300 more children begin experimenting with prescription drugs, the official estimated.
Lock Your Meds shows 70 percent of children who abuse prescription drugs admit to taking them from family and friends.
Since prescription drugs, when used as prescribed, can improve a person’s health, many teens believe they are a safe way to get high, according to the National Family Partnership.
Some disturbing facts presented by the National Family Partnership show 2.1 million teens abused prescription drugs in 2006.
Another fact is 3.1 million 12 to 25-year-olds have used over-the-counter cough and cold medications at least once to get high.
The National Family Partnership also revealed nearly one in 10 high school seniors admit abusing pain relievers.
The speaker Tuesday will touch on all the pertinent areas of teen drug abuse.
The more teens and parents know about the lifelong effects of drug abuse, the better the chances of keeping a child from getting hooked.

Anonymous Helps Purcell Junior High School Oklahoma with Truth.
Here just one of many emails that went to the School District informing the School District of the truth:
I am writing you because it has come to my attention that Andrew Cuomo from the Church of Scientology drug rehab front group Narconon Arrowhead is giving a presentation at Purcell Jr. High School next Tuesday, October 25, starting at 9:20 am. Mr. Cuomo is NOT a Certified Drug Counselor! Narconon has many fraudulent referral programs, if you haven’t researched “ABLE” or “Narconon” here is a banner from the Scientology home page:

I am tracking down how much Oklahoma tax dollars have gone to Narconon “aka..Scientology” program. I don’t know how to emphasis this enough, Narconon is not just talking about Drug Awareness to your kids, they are implanting basic Scientology dogma into your kids young minds via verbal communication skills and your paying them to do this! Anyway you look at this it’s wrong!!!

I suspect you are not aware of Narconon, here are some highlight points: Narconon is a front group for the Church of Scientology Narconon disseminates 100% Scientology doctrine and practice Narconon attempts to proselytize Christians into Scientology beliefs among which are reincarnation and past lives Its programs consists of two things: a detox program and a rehab program The detox consists of a medically dangerous regime of 4-5 hours a day for up to four weeks in a super-heated sauna and a dangerous regime of mega doses of niacin The Detox regime is called “The Purification Rundown”, and Scientology has stated to the IRS that it is a religious practice The rehab program consists exclusively of the study of Scientology doctrine using the same texts that new members of Scientology use in their indoctrination There is no standard-practice individual or group counseling Narconon is an anti-psychiatry hate group, disseminating the cult’s belief that all psychiatric drugs are evil as are all psychiatrists, psychologists, and social service workers. I would also like to point out that Narconon has been found to be medically useless. It is appalling that the Purcell education system is spending tax payer dollars on funding this propaganda effort by the Church of Scientology. There are surely many other people, including yourselves, who are quite capable of educating the students of Purcell on the dangers of drugs. I am not sure what you can do about this, but at the very least parents and children need to be warned, and perhaps you could attend the program. Christian pastors also need to be made aware. Unfortunately, many are still ignorant. However, the threat of Scientology to Christian students in Purcell has now come very near.
The Purcell Junior High School cancelled the event after becoming highly informed on who was about to speak to their children.

Anonymous members collectively stopped a “drug talk” presentation by the Church of Scientology scheduled this week at Oklahoma’s Purcell Jr. High.
Narconon, a known Church of Scientology front group was slated to visit Purcell Jr. High in recognition of Red Ribbon Week which annually falls on the last week of October. The talk was scheduled for Tuesday morning Oct 25th, but Anonymous supplied school officials with pertinent information about Narconon. Purcell Jr. High will stay Church of Scientology free.
Narconon’s speaker, Andrew Cuomo, never mentions the words “Church of Scientology” when he goes to talk to kids about drugs. Nor does he mention the word Scientology when he books these engagements, even though Narconon is a front group for the Church of Scientology and uses the teachings of L Ron Hubbard in their drug programs. Narconon is also a carbon copy of the Church of Scientology’s program “Criminon”, which unfortunately is still being used in the jail systems in the US and other countries. Many of these programs that get implemented with the “ok” from town officials are subsidized using YOUR tax dollars! Again, not enough homework or back ground checks are made.
Most schools will never know they were just paid a visit from the Church of Scientology, when Andrew Cuomo or other Narconon representative, John Bitinas visits their schools to talk to kids. Why do John and Andrew volunteer to visit the schools? It’s all about recruitment down the line, the collection of testimonials from students, and the acquisition of students’ contact info. Luckily, members of Anonymous alerted Amee Ellis of Purcell Jr. High in time and the presentation with Cuomo was canceled.
Parents, teachers, town officials and the PTA, need to DO THEIR HOMEWORK and be aware of who is talking to their children.

Some other Church of Scientology front groups people may want to be made of aware of are The CCHR (Citizens Commission on Human Rights), Applied Scholastics, WISE, ABLE, The Drug Free Marshals, The Way to Happiness, the Scientology Volunteer Ministers, Youth for Human Rights and there are many more. None of these front groups will ever mention the Church of Scientology, with the exception of the Scientology Volunteer Ministers.
Also be aware of tables set up in your town offering a “Free Stress Test”. This is the Church of Scientology. They have been known to set up on sidewalks, shopping malls, fairs, train stations and even flea markets. There are videos of them offering these free stress tests to children. They are shameless in their efforts to recruit, and nowhere will you see the words Church of Scientology anywhere on these tables.
